Suddenly, This Spring

My favorite was "Butterfield 8"
In fur coat and slip, she looked great
Those violet eyes
made temperatures rise
The last of her kind, no debate

Elizabeth Taylor, actress, humanitarian and screen beauty has passed away, leaving behind a fine passel of great films and performances.

To woman from child all on screen
Her private life, not all that keen
Had illnesses plenty
and husbands were many
but still remained Hollywood's Queen

In National Velvet she rode
Like cat on a hot roof she strode
Call Butterfield 8
If V. Woolf you hate
Her red Cleopatra blood flowed

On "Cleo" set, she kept a-flirtin'
with co-star, the great Richard Burton
The duo was love-struck
and couldn't get unstuck
while Eddie sat home, heart a-hurtin'

A one-of-a-kind they call Liz
A legend that grew in the biz
From child star matured
So many allured
Eight towel sets marked 'hers' and 'his'

This made me laugh.
Right thru my tears.

Liz Taylor is finally gone
The spotlight forever withdrawn
To this mythical diva
herewith we say "Viva!"
She's resting in peace, Forest Lawn
